Perform critical risk analysis and remediation as a key member of the Mortgage Lending (ML) Operations Risk Management and Control Monitoring Group. Facilitate risk-based analysis of key ML functions to ensure effective risk control. Analyze key ML process that impact risk (e.g., operations risk, regulatory risk). Evaluate key processes to ensure effective policies, procedures, controls and monitoring. For identified gaps and issues, ensure the issues are escalated, managed and remediated. Project management work in support projects sponsored by ML managers to remediate control issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assume ownership of assigned work streams to evaluate key processes and risk controls in ML functions (e.g. retail originations, correspondent lending, loan fulfillment, loan servicing, collections, loss mitigation, investor accounting).
Identify process gaps and risk control issues needing improvement. Perform root cause analysis of issues identified including impact on customer accounts.
Coordinate with ML Risk and Control Issues Resolution Manager to ensure identified issues are escalated, tracked, prioritized and managed.
Participate on project work teams to map solutions to identified problems in order to meet the objectives of ML functions. Note: May also lead certain projects or initiatives as directed.
Perform process and risk control validation of control enhancements and remediation performed by the mortgage line of business.
Develop or assist in the development of Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reports and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports essential to monitor operations and risk control effectiveness.
Assume responsibility as assigned for components of the ML processes which require ongoing maintenance, such as operations risk issues, compliance issues, documentation, process procedures, database management, communications and systems integration.
Produce written materials and communications to organize and summarize project-related activity and communicate process and control related information through various sources (e.g. policy governance, change control, Quality Control, second line of defense). Required Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in business-related field, or equivalent education and related training
Five years of mortgage banking or banking-related experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Conceptual ability to analyze processes, problems and devise solutions
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
Ability to travel, occasionally overnight Desired Skills:
Process-related project management experience
Advanced computer and database skills
Supplemental education and experience in residential mortgage lending (e.g. operations, audit, processing, quality control, underwriting or mortgage fraud mitigation/investigation)
