Job Description Newly established Retail Community Bank strategy / integration team is looking for a strong, execution-focused leader with distinctive project management, and experience leading integration efforts in a merger context. The individual will be based out of Charlotte, North Carolina and will work directly with other members of the strategy / integration team as well as senior leaders of the Retail Community Bank, and Strategic Transformation Office.
The execution-oriented leader will drive post-merger integration initiatives, and have the influencing capabilities to drive initiatives forward through partnership and not reporting lines. This role will be pivotal in driving impact through the merger of equals within the Retail Community Banking organization and drive synergies for the 6th largest bank in the US.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Liaising with the Strategic Transformation Office and leadership team of the Retail Community Bank • Creating project plans for integration initiatives • Driving role clarity and accountability for initiatives necessary to be completed by Client Day 1 • Drive overall program management for complex, inter-dependent initiatives critical to deliver value between legal day 1 and client day 1 • Serve as project expert and main point of contact defining and executing projects (including financials) and success factors that drive impact from proposed changes • Complete post-audit of implementation plans • Act as a change catalyst • Responsible for setting priorities, establishing goals and priorities • May negotiate with outside vendors and interact with and be able to influence senior management
Basic Requirements: • 6-10 years experience in post-merger integration activities • Prior Project Management Office experience with structure and rigor (including initiative planning, critical path / dependency development) • Recognized as an expert corporate consultant in multiple disciplines • Expert knowledge of the business unit and related industry • Strong communication / presentation skills • Confident / independent self-starter • Organized and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently • Prior experience in Lean a plus On February 7, 2019, it was announced that SunTrust Banks, Inc. and BB&T Corporation intend to merge, with the combined entity to be named Truist Financial Corporation (“Truist”).
