ThePayroll Accounting & Tax Managerrequires a strong understanding of concepts, practices and procedures within Accounting, Payroll and Tax. This role is responsible for continuous collaboration with HR Operations business partners to maintain effective working relationships. The position must have a solid understanding of GAAP, tax filing and general payroll processing principles.

Essential Responsibilities in the followiing areas: Accounting: •Ensure HR OPS GL Accounts are cleared monthly and aged items are addressed with applicable clearing instructions/information •Prepare General Ledger journal entries •Review and approve HR OPS Journal Entries •Validate Work Day integrations and reports •Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting payroll data

Tax: •Facilitate monthly meetings with Corporate Tax Team •Facilitate weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings with ADP (Third Party Tax Vendor) •Assist with complex and/or escalated payroll tax issues •Monitor ADP client portal daily to assist in resolving tax filing issues •Review agency tax filings prior to submission •Prepare, review and approve manual payrolls

Payroll: •Responsible for payroll settlement process, validation & payroll funding •Provide Multi-State tax calculations •Assist in year-end processing (W2 balancing, 1099 validations, etc…) •Submit required payroll adjustments

Minimum Requirements:

•Bachelor degree and/or 3 or more years related experience •Working knowledge of payroll and payroll tax reports •Solid understanding of internal controls and accounting policies and procedures •Ability to work in a team–oriented environment that is fast paced and within a highly matrixed organization. •Excellent interpersonal skills including decision-making, strategic thinking, initiative, problem solving and the ability to work through complex situations with team members to achieve a positive outcome •Ability to identify root cause collects data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make effective decisions and define process •Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with solid judgment and discretion •Microsoft Office products – utilizing Excel and Power Point

Preferred Requirements: •Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) •Knowledge of utilizing Workday Qualifications .
