Job Description Responsible for conducting financial crime investigations and preparing cases for filing with law enforcement on behalf of SunTrust. Responsible for conducting detailed research and analysis utilizing SunTrust’s internal systems and external open-source intelligence resources to locate and preserve evidence. May involve the conduct of interviews with those having knowledge of alleged fraudulent activity internally and externally to SunTrust. Responsible for the detailed and organized documentation of investigations and compilation of supporting evidence into a usable format for law enforcement. Serves as a liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to assist in facilitating criminal prosecution of suspects responsible for causing fraud losses to SunTrust. Will have responsibility for multiple locations within SunTrust’s geography and will be required to testify in court. May be required to debrief SunTrust managers/executives regarding financial crime trends, active fraud rings, investigation activities, and recommendations to mitigate fraud risk. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Will be required to handle complex investigations independently with moderate to high case volumes within defined timeframes. Travel will be required and may include some overnight stays. Qualifications Basic Requirements:
- At least 5 years of bank security experience including complex fraud investigations with little supervision and oversight.
Subject matter expert in criminal investigations with the ability to teach less experienced investigators. Preferred Requirements:
Professional security certification such as CFSSP, CPP or CFE.
